Beginner: Six sets total, three sets, holding for 10 seconds each
Intermediate: Six sets total, three sets, holding for 30 seconds each
Advanced: Six sets total, three sets, holding for one minute each
Rest time between sets should be two to three minutes for recovery.
Tips: Be mindful not to raise the leg that is in the air out from the spine more than your spine can handle. A good guide to keep the correct form is to be sure that you are not leaning excessively or hiking your hips. This incorrect form might create unnecessary strain to your lower back that could result in injury. Again, performing any of these push-ups with incorrect form can result in losing the neutral spinal position and therefore does not the engage the correct core movement and core stabilization muscles.
